The parishes takes the care, safety and wellbeing of all children and young people very seriously. The Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne has appointed Safeguarding Project Officers within the Professional Standards Unit to assist us with implementing policies and practices compliant with Australian Government regulations.
All staff and volunteers in the parish are required to meet these standards. The following documents provide details of the commitment required:
- pdf Bayside Catholic Mission Commitment Statement (715 KB)
- pdf Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy (801 KB)
- pdf Safeguarding Children and Young People Code of Conduct (745 KB)
The completion of the Child Safety Code of Conduct Declaration is a requirement of a person’s engagement within a Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne parish, agency or entity.
All staff and volunteers are required to provide us with evidence of their current Working With Children Check. This considerable undertaking reflects the importance of this commitment by us all.
Together we can work to ensure that everyone is safe in our parish.
