Welcome to the Brighton parishes of St James and St Joan of Arc. St James was the original parish in the Bayside area and reached to the Peninsula. In 1920 St Joan of Arc was declared a separate parish. This year we are celebrating the centenary of St Joan of Arc Parish as the original school/church was opened in 1921.
The parishes of St James and St Joan of Arc are now part of the new Bayside Catholic Mission. Fr David Cartwright and Fr Dean Mathieson are the Parish Priests for the Bayside Catholic Mission which also includes the parishes of St Mary’s Hampton, Sacred Heart Sandringham, Stella Maris in Beaumaris and St Josephs in Black Rock. Fr James Baptist has joined us as Assistant Priest.

Impact Of The Pandemic
As the pandemic restrictions begin to ease we have introduced a new Mass timetable for the Bayside Catholic Mission.
There are now two Masses each Sunday at St Joan of Arc at 11am and 5.30pm. Weekday Masses are at 7pm on Tuesdays and 9.15am Fridays. Bookings must be made for the weekend Masses only.
Please check the weekly bulletin for the latest news regarding services and contact the parish office to enquire about baptisms, weddings and funerals. We are very sorry for the stress and difficulties associated with these changes.
Please be assured of our prayers for you and your family during these challenging times.
